At Ethical Jewellery Australia, every sale is different. We match you with the diamonds, gemstones, metals and jewellery of your choosing. Prices are subject to the fluctuations of the dollar, popularity, supplier's stock and many other factors and it is impossible (and quite frankly, confusing) to list prices for individual diamonds.
What we do is ensure that you get exactly what you want - at a price you can afford. This is a very personal process and it is essential that you contact us and allow us to take you through it step by step. All of your questions will be answered. Every little detail is attended to until you are satisfied. We are not an anonymous, faceless organisation, we are a boutique business with passion and energy and every customer is special to us.
![]()
There isn't really an 'average spend' for customers, rather several price ranges.
For engagement rings and promised ring packs; these are:
$3,000 - $6,000,
$10,000 - $15,000,
$20,000 - $30,000, and
$50,000+
Now and then a customer will spend a little less, (or a lot more), but prices generally fall into the groupings given above.
With the exception of diamond set bands, handmade wedding rings are usually between $800 and $2,500. Mokume Gane bands range from $1,100 - $2,500 depending on the design and the metal used.
These prices are for pieces handmade using 18 carat gold, Platinum or Palladium. If your preference is for 9 carat gold, titanium or silver, please contact us for a quote. It should be noted that whilst the metal component will be a lower cost, manufacturing time and charges remain the same.
Premade jewellery by ![]()
All rings are made in the USA by a world leader in eco refining. They are machined, not cast, making them seamless, robust and free from porosity. Prices start from $350 for simple gold or palladium wedding bands and $800 for simple platinum wedding bands.
Engagement bands (excluding stones) start from$450 in gold or palladium and $800 in platinum. Most designs are available in 14 and 18 carat yellow, white and rose gold, palladium and platinum.
If you see something that is almost, but not quite what you are after in the premade selections, one of our jewellers can modify it to suit. It is our preference to source our own diamonds to set into jewellery, as we are committed to supplying diamonds that offer a social benefit.
Please note, the rings shown on our jewellery page represent a very small percentage of the pieces available from the range, contact us and we will send you the link to further images.
Customer comments:
Hi Melinda, South Australia |
Hi Melinda, i just wanted to say a big Thank You to you for all your work in creating my beautiful ring! it really is stunning, i am happy with how it turned out. The sapphire you sourced is really beautiful and i love that it is an Australia gem and made with recycled gold. Thanks for being mindful of our budget too. I really appreciate the time you gave to me. I will be in touch about getting a recycled gold wedding band. I just want something really simple - a classic gold band.I'll need it about July, though we don't have an exact date set. I will recommend you to anyone who'll listen. Best Wishes Elizabeth Sita Fletcher |

| SI¹ SI² |
Small Inclusion or imperfection easily seen with a loupe. Generally not visible to the naked eye in stones under two carats. |
What about points - what's that?
Points refer to the size of the diamond. A one carat diamond weighs 100 points, a half carat diamond 50 points - a two carat diamond 200 points and so on.....
What does fluorescence do?
When chosen wisely, blue fluorescence can make a diamond look whiter. It is essential that you choose a diamond that has no more than faint - low medium fluorescence as strong fluorescence can (but not always) cause a diamond to have a milky appearance. Some stones fluoresce red, yellow, green or orange - this is best avoided. Fluorescent stones are often priced slightly lower than non-fluorescent stones. All Australian material fluoresces to some degree - this does not have a lowering effect on price.
